535 points out of 200 shoes. The 1973 defending champion was
Elmer Hohl. Mark Seibold (Huntington, IN) had tied Hohl for first
place
in the 1973 World with a 32-3 record and an 80.9% ringer percent.
Hohl defeated Seibold in a best of three playoff in two games for the
World Title (52-27 & 50-46; 83.7%-76.1% & 82.4%-81.5%).
Seibold's rookie year was 1971 where he finished 4th behind Curt Day,
Elmer Hohl and John
Walker (Chula Vista, CA). In 1972 Mark Seibold finished 3rd with
a
record of 32-3 behind Elmer Hohl and Curt Day who both tied for 1st
with a record of 33-2 (Hohl winning the playoff with Day 2 games to 1
with an
84.4% average versus Day's 82.78% average. Mark Seibold went on
to
win two World Titles of his own in 1979 with a record of 27 wins and 4
losses,
pitching an 82.6% average and again in 1986 while averaging 82.2% and
sweeping
